You could be delivered and still remain in bondage. Deliverance could mean the movement of a person or people out of physical or geographical oppression. It is usually carried out by a deliverer. Some external persons must be involved in their physical or spiritual deliverance.

Freedom on the other hand is self-liberation. Any form of liberation that involves a second person can best be described as deliverance. Self-liberation is freedom.

We owe it a duty to ourselves to receive all the help we can access from others for deliverance. What we do with the tools of deliverance to and for ourselves brings FREEDOM!

Jesus said: 'You shall know the TRUTH and the truth shall MAKE you free' John 8:32
Freedom is internal but deliverance is external. Col. 1:13 Rom. 12:2

Consider this scenario: Your mom is a Ghanaian. She left the shores of Ghana for American when she was pregnant and gave birth to you in America. After several years you decided to return to Ghana after you got to know of your Ghanaian background. The movement from America to Ghana is not the real deal, it is replacing the American culture in you with the Ghanaian way of doing things that is the real challenge.

Our first parents, Mr. & Mrs. Adam lived in the very presence of God. They were carriers of the life of God (Zoe). Their spirits were their primary sense. Every information they had came to them through their spirits. They lived a full and very fulfilling life. Life, to them, was from the spirit to the physical. They lived in power.

All of these things changed when they decided to doubt God and trust the serpent (the Devil). It was in this new state that we were born into. So like the Ghanaian woman who gave birth to the son in a different country, we were also born slaves under Satan's dominion. We were slaves to sin and spiritual death (Satan's nature).

After hearing the gospel, we trusted God again and moved out of darkness into the light, and yet we have a huge lifetime responsibility to move darkness out of us. This is the whole essence of this blog, FREEDOM!

It involves pursuing knowledge of the truth, revelational knowledge, the Rhema or the keys of the kingdom of God.

Each human being needs deliverance from sin and Satan's nature (spiritual death), which is the essence of the gospel of salvation. Only Jesus offers that, no one else:

"There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved." English Standard Version

If you have not personally committed your life to Jesus Christ yet, then those shackles of spiritual slavery are still around your spirit. Come to Jesus today. Say this prayer: Father, I am a sinner and a slave to the devil but today, I come to you. Please save me, wash me with the blood of Jesus, and fill me with your Spirit of Truth. Thank you for saving me, now I know I am born again, Amen.

30 "As He spoke these words, many believed in Him. 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:30-32

You have received the rest that comes from Christ. It is now time to pursue after the rest that comes through revelational knowledge. May the Bible and the Holy Spirit of Truth be your guide.
