In our previous post, we focused on two things that make Jesus Christ the most unique personality in the history of humanity: (i) his pre existence before coming into this earth realm and (ii) how he, through a virgin birth was made into a human being. We also discussed at length the significance of his miraculous virgin birth.

In this post, we shall discuss how Jesus' birth brings divine and eternal opportunities to humanity.

But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons...
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will...
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is...
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
Galatians 4:4-5, Ephesians 1:5, 1John 3:2, 1John 4:17

Adam was the very son of God on the day that he was created.

“… Adam, which was the son of God.” Luke 3:38

Adam carried the very glory and authority of his Father. As the son of God, there was an aura around him. All creation beheld his glory as the unique son of God and that there was no other creation like him. We need to understand that Adam did no do any special or difficult thing to earn the glory he was walking in; he was simply a benefactor of the grace of God. God had special arrangements in place for the man he was going to create to be the exact replica of Himself, and that was exactly what He did. What was Adam's input? Nil. In fact, the day Adam and Eve decided to make an input to walk in glory, that was the very day they came short of it.

Adam fell short of the glory of God, he no longer measured up. There was nothing he did in the first place to receive and walk in the glory of God and after losing it, there was nothing he could do to forestall it. The incessant desire and attempt to restore to glory is the source of all religions: man’s effort to get back the glory of God. It takes God’s grace to walk in God’s glory.

Many years after, the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

“And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we (actually) saw His glory, glory as belongs to the (One and) only begotten Son of the Father, (the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is) full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception)”. John 1:14 Amplified Bible

When Jesus came here, there was something so striking about Him that the whole of creation quickly recognized as similar to what was at work in Adam before the fall: glory (the totality of all that God is). This glory is quickly attributed to the fullness of grace and truth at work in Jesus. The same grace of God that was at work in Adam also operated in Jesus and the outcome was the glory of God.

No wonder the scripture says:

“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.” 1Corinthians 15:45

The mission of the Last Adam was to bring fallen man back to sonship with God.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” John 1:12
If the first Adam (son of God) walked in glory by grace and the last Adam (son of God) manifested the glory of God through grace why shouldn't you and I as sons of God by God’s abundant grace experience the glory of God in our lives?

There is deep cry in all of as to walk in the past glories of Adam, we wish we were in his days. as a matter of fact, i have met several people who still blame Adam today for all the troubles we are facing today. If we will equally realize that another Adam has been here to undo what the first Adam did and even more importantly restored to us more than Adam lost, there shall be manifestations of greater and fuller glories in our lives by the operation of God's grace in us.

"...because as He is, so are we in this world." 1 John 4:17

We shall not be like Jesus when we get to heaven, we are already like him in this world. Adam became a victim of the devil's wiles because he didn't accept what he already possessed by God's grace and attempted to supplement the grace of God with his own effort. Let us avoid that trap of the devil by acknowledging and walking in the reality of God's word.

Submitting your life to Jesus is the introduction into sonship.

Pray this prayer with me:

‘Lord Jesus, I come to you today. I am a sinner, I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with your precious blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan, to serve the living God. Today, Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and my Saviour. Thank you for saving me! Now I know, I am born again!’

If you have prayed this prayer in faith, you are born again, saved, a child of God.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them, that believe on his name

1John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. As simple as it may seem to you, you are saved or born again by this prayer of faith. You have been restored to sonship. Get a bible if you don’t have one yet and start reading it for yourself. May the Holy Spirit also be your guide.
