SONS OF GOD V (b)

In my previous post SONS OF V (a), we focused on the incarnation of Jesus the Son of God, reasons for his incarnation, the miracle of his incarnation and then the uniqueness of the human beingness of Jesus Christ. In this post, we shall try to draw down the curtains on Jesus, the Son of God by looking at the significance of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, the Son of God.

DEATH

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:16-17

When God spoke to Adam about death in the garden, He was very straight forward by spelling out specifically that on the very day Adam sinned, he was surely going to die. ‘But on the very day Adam ate the fruit, he didn’t die’ you may argue. But that will also mean that God lied. However, God does not lie.

God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfil?

Num 23:19 NIV

From our understanding that God does not lie, it will mean that He meant dying spiritually. Adam died physically at age 930. He lived that long but on the day of death he still wasn’t alive spiritually and that made him a slave of the Devil even in the life hereafter.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 NIV

The wages of sin is not physical death else the gift of God would have been long life. Long life is not necessarily eternal life. Eternal life is God’s life, Zoe, God’s essential nature.

Many people limit themselves to the physical death of Jesus on the cross anytime that subject comes up. If the root of man’s problem is spiritual then just the physical death of Jesus on the cross will not be enough to take care of it. The only thing that leads to spiritual death is sin. How was this sinless Jesus going to die spiritually? He was tempted at all points but did not sin. He could not have sinned because he had sinless blood, hence no sin nature in Him. He was so much alive in the spirit that Satan couldn’t have succeeded in deceiving Him. This was exactly what was available to Adam when he sinned. Adam was very much alive and alert in spirit that he could not have been deceived.

And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 1 Tim 2:14 NIV

So how did Jesus die spiritually?

God made him who had no sin to be sin a for us, so that in him, we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV

Isaiah 53 is a beautiful and most graphical portrait of how was made sin to slip into spiritual death.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6 NIV

… though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes c his life a guilt offering ... Isaiah 53:9-10 NIV

The iniquity of the human race was laid on Him, His life was made a guilt offering. It was at this point that the Father’s presence was withdrawn from Jesus on the cross. It was at this very point of Adam losing the presence of God that made him feel inferior, inadequate, naked, and fearful and ran to hide. Eternal life seized to flow through him, Adam began to feel an unfamiliar and yet strong Surlphric clenching stench over his spirit. This was the code of spiritual death placed as a seal over him forever.

Jesus, in a very similar condition, begins to feel his emptiness and nakedness at the withdrawal of the Father’s presence and screams out:

About the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi,  lamasabachthani?"-which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Matt 27:46

Jesus the forsaken Son of God in this condition, steps down from immortality to mortality where ageing and physical death is activated. Once Jesus was separated from the Father physical death became a reality for Him.

The Jews, therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.

But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:

But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. John 19:31-35

CONFIRMATIONS OF HIS DEATH

His legs were not broken like the rest

The blood and water that poured from His side.

At least these two should settle the arguments of those who reject the resurrection on the sole premise that Jesus did not actually die.

BURIAL

Physical death brought about the separation of the body and the spirit. In the burial of Jesus, His body had to be kept safe from any form of mutilation and possible decomposition through embalmment.

And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pound weight.

Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

There laid they, Jesus, therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand. John 19:38-42

But the matter of focus at this juncture is what really took place during the three days of burial.

Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. Acts 2:23-24

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. Colossians 1:18

FIRSTBORN FROM THE DEAD

Was Jesus the first person ever to have risen from the dead from the beginning of creation? NO. Throughout scriptural records we see ten people dying and coming back to life again by the power of God: Widow of Zarephath's Son (1 King 17:17-24), Shunammite Woman's Son (2 Kings 4:18-37), Israelite Man (2 Kings 13:20–21), Widow of Nain's Son (Luke 7:11–17 Luke 8:49–56), Lazarus (John 11:1-44), Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:1-20; Mark 16:1-20; Luke 24:1-49; John 20:1-21:25), Saints in Jerusalem (Matthew 27:50-54), Tabitha or Dorcas (Acts 9:36-42) and Eutychus (Acts 20:7–12). So we know at least that Jesus was not the first. So why is He referred to as the first born from the dead? Jesus was the first person to have come out of spiritual death. The sin that brought Him spiritual death was taken off Him justified in the Spirit…

This was the beginning of the new creation

1Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

The first man Adam was made a living soul - old creation

The last Adam was made a quickening spirit – new creation

This is why we all must be born again, to translate us from the old creation, Adam into the new creation, Christ Jesus.

If you haven’t really met Him personally, or have been living life contrary to Him, I think it’s time for you to reconsider Him. I humbly invite you to Please pray this sincere prayer out now:

‘Lord Jesus, I come to you today for I now see you for whom you really are. I am a sinner, I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with your precious blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan, to serve the living God. Today, Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and my Saviour. Thank you for saving me! Now I know, I am born again!’

If you have prayed this prayer in faith, you are born again, saved, a child of God.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them, that believe on his name

1John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. As simple as it may seem to you, you are saved or born again by this prayer of faith. You have been restored to sonship. Get a bible if you don’t have one yet and start reading it for yourself. SONS OF GOD V (a)

In my previous post SONS OF GOD IV, we focused on the incarnation of Jesus the Son of God, reasons for his incarnation, the miracle of his incarnation and then the uniqueness of the human beingness of Jesus Christ. In this post, we shall try to draw down the curtains on Jesus, the Son of God by looking at the significance of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, the Son of God.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29 NIV

At the very beginning of Jesus’ public life, prophet John De Baptist, whose birth, life and mission were to prepare the way of the lord, introduces him to the world as the Lamb of God with the ultimate mission of taking away the sin of the world. The focus of Jesus’ mission was not the sins of the world but the sin. The sin that we are looking at is the taproot of all other personal sins. The sin Adam committed brought spiritual death on the entire human race. When that foundation laid by Adam I, is destroyed, then the absolute power of mastery Satan holds over the entire human race will come to an end and then each human being will be left with the choice of whom he will submit to.

Was Jesus born to die? Absolutely yes! The purpose of the incarnation of Jesus was death, not just physical death but the ultimate death, spiritual death.

Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death — that is, the devil— and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. Heb 2:14-15 NIV

For God to redeem (buy back) man, He had to identify completely with man.

Man was human (humus + man: clay + spirit), God had to become human

ADAM: Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man's nostrils, and the man became a living person. Genesis 2:7

JESUS: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:1-2, 14 NIV

Man sinned; Jesus couldn’t sin but was made sin on our behalf (not made to)

ADAM: So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband, and he ate. Genesis 3:6 RSV

JESUS: For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Heb 4:15-16 NASU

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV

Adam died spiritually on the very day he sinned, Jesus died spiritually the very day he was sin

ADAM: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die." Genesis 2:17 RSV

JESUS: About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi,  lamasabachthani?"-which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Matt 27:46

THE AGONY OF FORSAKEN SON OF GOD

Adam died physically years later and Jesus died physically too a few hours later

ADAM: Thus all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, and he died. Genesis 5:5RSV

JESUS: And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.  Matt 27:50 NKJV

Don’t get confused. Jesus had a mission to accomplish when he came on earth as the Son of God. Everything Jesus did prior to His betrayal and going to the cross was to show to man what God had intended for the creation of the human race.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John 9:5

Having mentioned that, let’s not lose track of His mission: to get to the very chamber of hell and break that slavery code of spiritual death over the whole of creation. This code was what prevented any human being from accessing and walking in eternal life, God’s very kind of life, Zoe. There were no other legal means of getting there except to use the very means that all humans who got there used: spiritual death followed by physical death. Anyone who ever went to hell or shall ever go to hell must, by divine requirement, be spiritually dead at the point of departing from this world. Jesus had to fulfil this in order to have an audience with that old Traitor angel, the one who caused mayhem in heaven 1000s of years ago and who has also succeeded in disconnecting the whole earth and its inhabitants from its original government. Jesus had come to confront the rebel leader and take back this colony of heaven and her citizens to Himself.

Really, if Satan had known this fact of Jesus’ coming, he wouldn’t have laid a finger on Him.

None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 Corinthians 2:8-9 NIV

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:15

The death of Jesus, the Son of God is what actually begins our redemption process. I really need you to take time to digest what you have read before we consider the death of Jesus proper in my next post.

If you haven’t really met Him personally, or have been living a life contrary to Him, I think it’s time for you to reconsider Him.

SONS OF GOD IV

In my previous post SONS OF GOD III, we focused on JESUS the son of God. We established that it was after the corruption of the angelic sons of God that the human son of God was created. Again, it was after Adam corrupted his seed that we hear the announcement of a critical future agenda, Genesis 3:15. We also looked at Jesus the unique Son of God in the light of His existence before coming to earth. In this post, we shall be looking at the incarnation of Jesus, the Son of God.

INCARNATION

'Incarnation, a central Christian doctrine that God became flesh, that God assumed a human nature and became a man in the form of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the second person of the Trinity. Christ was truly God and truly man'. Encyclopaedia Britannica

'Incarnation means that Deity has become united with humanity in an individual'. E. W. Kenyon

'And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel'.
Genesis 3:15 (Emphasis mine)

Right there in Genesis, a great mystery was pointed to: a woman's seed. we know that in both biblical and scientific language it is the seed or sperm of the male that causes fertilization in the female. Even though women get pregnant and carry the baby for nine months, this only occurs after she has received seed from the man. It is, however, never out of place for God to speak of the seed of the woman because He did not mince words when those words were spoken.

'Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel'. Isaiah 7:14 (Emphasis mine)

A VIRGIN SHALL BECOME PREGNANT

Naturally, a female without a male's sperm can't become pregnant. As miraculous as this conception was, which happened some 730 years after it was prophesied by Isaiah, was it really necessary? What point had to be prooved by letting a woman conceive through the most unlikely means?

Of cause, the virgin conceiving was absolutely necessary. The incarnation was the only solution God had to resort to, to redeem the human race (His intended children) back to Himself. God's love for the human race (His intended children) has always been a mystery to us. He has such high value for us than we hold of ourselves. No wonder, He made us and knows exactly how much worth He’s invested into us. For instance, what explanation can we give to what He did even before walking Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden?
‘Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them’. Genesis 3:21

'God made coats of skins] It is very likely that the skins out of which their clothing was made were taken off animals whose blood had been poured out as a sin-offering to God; for as we find Cain and Abel offering sacrifices to God, we may fairly presume that God had given them instructions on this head; nor is it likely that the notion of a sacrifice could have ever occurred to the mind of man without an express revelation from God.  Hence we may safely infer,  1. That as Adam and Eve needed this clothing as soon as they fell, and death had not as yet made any ravages in the animal world, it is most likely that the skins were taken off victims offered under the direction of God himself, and in faith of HIM who, in the fullness of time, was to make an atonement by his death.  And it seems reasonable also that this matter should be brought about in such a way that Satan and death should have no triumph, when the very first death that took place in the world was an emblem and type of that death which should conquer Satan, destroy his empire, reconcile God to man, convert man to God, sanctify human nature, and prepare it for heaven'. Adam Clarke’s Commentary of Genesis 3 Verse 21:

You do not know the extent of God’s love for you, do you? Right there in the Garden, God slaughtered an innocent animal to use its blood to atone for their sin and leather for their nakedness. That is love in action.

REASONS FOR INCARNATION

1. Man was spiritually dead
2. Man was under slavery to Satan
3. Humanity must be delivered by humanity
4. Any human by natural birth was under Satan’s dominion
5. Only God could save humanity, and to be fair and just, God had to become a man

THE MIRACLE OF INCARNATION

'In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth'. John 1:1,14

The WORD had to become flesh or a human being. The Word was not referring to a STATEMENT but a personality (John 1:1, Revelation 19:13)

'And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David'. Luke 1:30-32

The Word was being into a human being:

'Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men'. Philippians 2:5-7

So Mary was a virgin. No man got her pregnant. But if all human beings were already spiritually dead and under the slavery of Satan, that included Mary. How was divinity going to ensure that the baby Jesus would not inherit the already contaminated blood from Mary during the gestation period?

Science has proven to us that when a foetus is in the womb, the mother transfers everything the baby requires through the umbilical cord but never shares her blood with the baby, NEVER! Else how would an HIV (+) mum give birth to a baby that is HIV (-)?

This is what broke Satan’s spine: one human being entered into this world and yet He wasn’t under Satan’s dominion. Satan could not find Jesus’ data on his database.
'And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory'. 1Timothy 3:16

THE UNIQUE HUMAN BEING

There is no human being that equals Jesus in His humanity. No religious leader of the past, present or future can compare with Him. He is the CREATOR in the midst of His creation. Apart from the fact that He pre-existed before coming into this world, His birth was contrary to the laws of nature. He carried God’s blood in His human body. He assumed Adam’s status prior to the fall. Adam was back to take care of some unfinished business.

If you haven’t really met Him personally, or have been living a life contrary to Him, I think it’s time for you to reconsider Him.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them, that believe on his name.

SONS OF GOD III

In my previous post SONS OF GOD II, we focused on Adam the son of God. Luke 3:38 declared Adam as the son of God in the sense that he was created by God, had a personal and special relationship with God, and ultimately, was made in the image and likeness of God. In this post, we shall be looking at Jesus Himself as the Son of God.

“And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”. Matthew 3:17

JESUS, THE SON OF GOD III

In all my years of writing, there hasn’t been any subject so hard for me to write about like writing about JESUS CHRIST. I find the human language too inadequate to express Him fully in writing. Jesus is so vast that I can’t see how my little mind can pretend to have grasped enough of Him to fully write about I always ended up just gazing at Him in awe and forgot about writing completely. As hard as I’ll try, it is an experiential knowledge that you should pursue.

Jesus is the most interesting person in both time and eternity. Any sincere seeker of truth will always find Jesus but for those who are victims of religion (which is indeed nothing but a human creation in seeking for God) will think they hate Him when in reality it’s because they have not encountered Him.

THIS SAME JESUS

Jesus is many things to many different people: Healer, Teacher, Saviour, Provider, King etc. And truly, He answers to these names and more since they are functions He carries out toward what the needs of the seekers might be. But as the Son of God, it reveals the connectivity He has with the Father.

It is of no wonder therefore that among all the identities Jesus bore, Satan was fearfully interested only in whether He was the Son of God at that point.

“And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterwards an hungered. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands, they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone”. Matthew 4:2-6

Angels are sons of God in their right because they owe their existence to God. Note that it was after the failed attempted coup d'├ętat in heaven that Adam (humankind) was created.

Adam was the son of God also in his own right. The actual man was a spirit just like angels. But this spirit was in the very image and likeness of God. Secondly, this spirit (man) was placed into a physical body made from the earth. This earthly body functions by bodily fluids like the blood which angels don’t have. In fact, the earthly body man inherited came with several other things like respiration, reproduction, excretion and other functions not available to angels since they have no earthly physical body.

It was upon the failure of Adam to hold himself up to fulfil God’s plan to have more children that He announced an ultimate plan to redeem man unto Himself.

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel”. Genesis 3:15

Jesus is the Son of God.

The third category of personalities referred to as Sons of God is Jesus Christ, the ultimate Son of God. When angels are referred to as sons of God, the question of the whereabouts of their mother never arise. Similarly, nobody questions with which woman God gave birth to Adam.

THE PRE EXISTENCE OF JESUS

The following scriptures show that before Jesus came into this world, He existed in the heavenly realms. Anyone who misses this aspect of Jesus will always doubt the divinity of Jesus.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth”. John 1:1-2, 14

The Word which was made flesh and dwelt with us was at the beginning of time with God and was God.

Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” John 8:58

Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. John 17:5

Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. John 17:24

He is before all things, and in Him, all things hold together. Colossians 1:17

Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually. Hebrews 7:3

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Revelation 22:13

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. Colossians 1:15

What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life— and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us 1 John 1:1-2

John *testified about Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’” John 1:15

When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One, and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades. Revelation 1:17-18

“And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life, says this:” Revelation 2:8

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God”. Revelation 19:11-13

Note the detailed description of this personality, his name is The Word of God. This personality can be no other than Jesus Christ. It is only a personal encounter with Him that will make all that you know about Him count.

If your knowledge of Him is in the realm of intellectual only, I humbly invite you to Please pray this prayer out now:

‘Lord Jesus, I come to you today.

SONS OF GOD II

In my previous post SONS OF GOD I, we focused on Angels as sons of God. Angels are considered sons in the sense that they owe their existence to God, have a personal and special relationship with God, and definitely possess some key characteristics of God.

A son refers to the identity of a male offspring due to his personal and special relationship with his parent. In this post, we shall be looking at Adam as a son of God.

“The son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalaleel, the son of Cainan, the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God”.

Luke 3:37-38

ADAM THE SON OF GOD

Adam was the son of God due to his personal and special relationship with God. When God expressed His intention to create man, He was very expressive in the kind of personality He was going to bring out, definitely, it wasn’t going to be as an angel.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and overall the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 1:26-27

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

Genesis 5:1-2

So God purposed to create a human being just like Himself. The word human, ‘hu’-‘man’ according to Dr Myles Munroe of blessed memories, is a hybrid word (two words joined together). Humus: earth, clay or sand and Man: spirit. Adam was a HUMUS-MAN, a spirit dwelling in a physical body, heaven in earth vessel.

Adam looked like God, it was God’s idea, he was the son of God with an earthly body to carry out his Papa’s mission on the earth. Children have always been the extensions of their parents; agents of extensions into the future. In other words, parents continue to live on through their children even after their departure from this life. Wherever your child goes, he represents you fully. Adam was an extension of God upon the earth.

‘God was duplicated in man, leaving the man with all divine attributes that would make him operate like the true son of his father. If sons of men are men, then it follows that sons of God are gods. Like, will always beget like’.
David O. Oyedepo, Releasing The Supernatural.

Just like mothers bring forth their children into this world, God also brought forth Adam into existence. When he walked through the Garden of Eden, he wasn’t taking those steps as one of the creatures of God, he was evidently the son of God. He carried the authority and power of his father to execute his daddy’s will on earth.

Adam had no iota of doubt whatsoever about his belongingness to Papa God. He carried the DNA of God in him, the all things are possible genes were are work in him. He had no fears, no inferiority, no lack, no limits.

GOD’S MANY CHILDREN

When God brought forth his first son, Adam, He was also equally able to have brought forth every other human being, there’s no impossibility with Him, but He didn’t do that. He had intended for his first born Adam to bring forth the rest of his children and that was part of why He introduced Eve, his wife.

MUTANT CHILDREN

Adam had in him the very genes of God and would transfer this same gene over to the children of God he was to bring forth. Unfortunately, this did not happen. Before he brought forth his first child, he had changed into a mutant.

A mutant is that which becomes different from others of the same kind because of a change in its genetic structure. God’s DNA in Adam became corrupt. There was a dramatic alteration in the structure of the genes of Adam. Don’t forget that Adam was a spirit living in the physical body. There was no great change in his physical structure. Any deficiency that was recorded in his physical structure later was as a result of a defect in his spirit.

ADAM’S CHILDREN

And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth.
Genesis 5:3

Though Adam was made in the image and likeness of God, he lost that, acquired a new one before he started bringing forth children. These children possessed the newly acquired image and likeness which their father acquired from Satan.

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. Genesis 6:5-6

As a result, the children Adam brought forth were spiritually dead children of the devil.

Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:14, 17

This is the condition of all human beings: spiritual death. Would you want to be spiritually aligned to God to become his child?

Please pray this prayer out now:

‘Lord Jesus, I come to you today.
